congratulations - 3 bbo national scholarship winners

Fantastic news that 3 senior students have won scholarships for the new year. Freya and Emma (both Intermediate Ballet class) have won Senior Ballet Scholarships, whilst Sophie (Grade 7 class) has gained a Senior Jazz Scholarship. Very proud of you girls! These are ongoing until the girls reach 18.

children in need  tapathon, 18th November 2012

67 of our students - from 7-65 years - took part in this nationwide World Record attempt for 'most people doing same tap routine at same time'.  The event raised £11000 nationally, and our school raised an additional £150. A really nice fun event, with guest tap teacher for the warm up and a great routine!


flashmob newbury - halloween hullabaloo

Students from 6 years to Adult gave a great performance at this years Corn Exchange Halloween event, with two performances of a flashmob dancing to Ghost Busters, Rob Zombie and Thriller.



centre for advanced training(cat scheme) success

Freya (Intermediate Ballet class) who is only 13 years old, has won a hotly contested place on this national scheme and will be attending 'The Place' Vocational School in London every Saturday from September. Excellent news, and the first step towards full time dance study in the future. Well done Freya!



laban youth dance company

Sophie (Grade 7) has won a place in the youth company at the well respected Laban Vocational School in London, it is an honour to be selected by their Youth Dance Company - well done!

more exam success - vocational exams in london

Some of our senior students went to London for their Inter Foundation Ballet exams in July - excellent results once again.



olympic events - medesky stadium torch relay and henley

2 of our senior students danced at the torch relay at Medesky stadium, Reading (in the rain!). They performed again a week later at Henley's Olympic 'Tree of Life' performance.  Well done girls.



july - our first 2 day exam session

So many children taking exams we can't fit them all on one day! - well done to all our entrants, maintaining our 100% pass rate once again and lots of really good marks.  Special thanks to our working party of parents who tidied the Church garden so we could use it, thank you so much.



school trip to see flawless & the english national ballet

We drove up to Aylesbury in July to see this touring production - a brilliant collaboration and a great afternoon out had by all



BBO's director of training in birthday honours list

Brenda Last, the BBO's Director of Training, was given an OBE in the Queens Birthday Honours List.



Great performance - berkshire youth ballet's narnia production

Well done to all 7 students who performed so brilliantly in Slough in May.  We saw excellent work by Freya as 'Lucy' whilst the other 6 took on multiple rolls with much success



10th - 12th april - bbo residential ballet , elmhurst school for dance

We had a great time at Elmhurst (Birmingham) with some of our students. 3 days staying and studying at a 'real' vocational ballet school. Parents enjoyed a performance of work on the last day in their theatre.

 


Exams march 2012 - CONGRATULATIONS - brilliant results

These went really well - a lovely examiner.  Once again a  100% pass rate for Graded Exams  - well done everyone.

The Linden Ellicott School of Dancing has it's own facebook group (- now called 'new group' due to facebook archiving).  It is a closed group only visible to members. If you are a member of the dance school why not ask to join the facebook group and be the first to hear of news, auditions and information.  Updated much more regularly than the website . .


 

congratulations - berkshire youth ballet success

Well done to Freya (Grade 6 class) who has been given the lead role of 'Lucy' in the BYB's production of Narnia. Freya, Sophie (Grade 6), Hannah, Emma & Rachel (Grade 4) Eloise and Ellie (Grade 3) will all be performing in this production on 26th & 27th May in Slough  www.berkshireyouthballet.com

to Eloise (Grade 2 class) who gave a great performance in the KATS panto production this year.

 


JUNIOR BALLET SOUTH SCHOLARSHIP WINNER - JANUARY 2012 (3rd year)

Congratulations to Freya (Grade 6 class) who is continuing her national BBO Junior Ballet Scholarship and will receive extra monthly tuition in London from some of the top ballet teachers, along with an annual residential course at Elmhurst Ballet School, Birmingham.
