Linden Ellicott School of Dancing - Thatcham

our classes

Classes are held weekly during term time in Ballet, Tap and Modern dance at the United Reformed Church Hall, Church Lane, Thatcham (off the High Street)

Children can start training from 3 years old in our Toddler Classes, and then progress onto our graded class structure once reaching 5/6 years old. Classes are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Boys only classes can also be scheduled weekly, when required.

Adult classes also take place every Thursday during term time - with fun ballet and tap exercise classes to help you keep fit.

We follow the training system of the British Ballet Organization (BBO) and encourage pupils to enter for their nationally recognised graded examinations. We take part in local dance competitions and produce our own concert every 2/3 years. We also perform in local events and productions, and entertain at local OAP homes. All the children are encouraged to take part in concerts, fundraisers, shows and exams, but they are optional and pupils can still progress without participating in them.

We usually have an annual theatre trip and older students can take part in a Residential course at Elmhurst Ballet School each Easter.

our teacher

All classes are taught by Mrs Linden Ellicott. 'Miss Linden' as the children like to call her, started training with a BBO school in Romford, Essex at the age of 2 and studied their syllabi to advanced level. Now a registered teacher for the BBO, she has more than 30 years teaching experience. She taught for the Caroline Green School of Dancing in Romford for several years before establishing her own school in Dorchester, Dorset. On moving to Berkshire, she set up the Thatcham school in 2001 and it has been steadily growing ever since.
